Sing and Play through the Seasons

This session includes many favorite Orff arrangements, body percussion pieces, songs, singing games and listening activities to use throughout the school year, from music rules in your first class to thank you’s and farewells.  The lessons will teach concepts, get kids singing, playing, moving and creating.

Have Fun with Hand Games

This session will give you lessons with hand games that are fun to play, and great resources for teaching rhythms, solfa, tempo and form.  Hand games are as good as brain gym to get your students using both sides of the brain and they’re engaging for kids.  You’ll have your students singing, playing and creating with fun handgames!

Easy Folk Dances that are FUN!!!

This session will take you on a trip around the world with folk dances that come from Europe, North America and South America.  Folk dances are a wonderful way to teach form, phrasing and they are FUN!  Have fun with classroom tested dances – we’ll share videos of the students who learned them.  (and you’ll have acess to the videos after the session)  Use of projectables and videos make the dances really easy to teach in your classroom.

Boomwhackers, Bucket Drums, and Beat Boards

Are there days when you just want to hit something???  In this session, you’ll have fun drumming and making music with Boomwhackers, Bucket Drums and Beat Boards.  In this session, Denise takes you through a sequential process that will help your Gr. 1-5 students learn to read rhythms and melodies using Boomwhackers, Bucket Drums and Beat Boards, stick notes, tennis balls, and more!  You’ll play with and sing pop music from Canadian Indigenous Singers.  It’s fun and will give teachers some great ideas of ways to get students reading music in Grades 1-6.
